We are excited and look forward to meeting you and your child at your initial visit!
We invite you to stay with your child during their initial visit and all other visits. Though we welcome you in the back office at all times (except during treatment under general anesthesia), we recommend you allow your child to independently accompany our staff during the dental experience. Children typically establish a closer rapport with Dr. Rojas and our staff when you remain in the waiting area. Our purpose in this is to gain your child’s confidence and help him/her overcome apprehension. However, if you choose, you are more than welcome to accompany your child throughout their appointment.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends the first visit to the pediatric dentist occur shortly after the first tooth comes in. Why so early? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the AAPD all recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a “dental home” are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care as well as feel more comfortable in the dental office. Our team will utilize show, tell and do techniques which will allow your child to feel comfortable with the instruments being used and the procedures that will take place. They will be the "Dentists" for the day! Our dentists will gently examine your child's teeth, oral issues and bite and, if your child is comfortable, clean and polish their teeth and apply fluoride.
We always work to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen during the morning. This is when they are typically more refreshed, and we can work more slowly to maintain a child’s comfort level. For routine visits, school-age children can be scheduled throughout the day. Most appointments will be scheduled during the morning hours. Our afternoon appointments are for routine visits, some new patients, and older children requiring minor dental treatment.
Here at Enchanted Forest Pediatric Dentistry, our goal is to make your life as easy as possible. To that extent, you will receive an email prior to your child’s visit with forms to complete that directly link to our office management system. If you are able to do this, there will be no need to arrive early to complete your child’s first appointment forms.
If you did not receive this email, just click on the link below to access the forms. A few reminders: 1) The forms should be completed with your child's information, not yours, 2) One form per child. Please do not try to do one per family, as it will confuse the system and increase your work when you arrive.
Pre-Screening Questionnaire; The day before your child’s appointment you will receive a questionnaire regarding your household’s COVID situation to alert you of the circumstances where a cancellation should probably take place.
